WHO: Paul O’Brien ’86, Pastor, St. Patrick’s Parish & President, Lawrence Catholic Academy

WHAT:  ClassACT HR’86 Happy / Hour

WHEN:  Monday, October 26 at 7-8pm ET / 4-5pm PT

            WHERE: Zoom

Our classmate Pastor Paul O’Brien’86 is pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish and president of Lawrence Catholic Academy. His work stands at the intersection of faith, education, and healing. For nearly 25 years, Father Paul has served in Lawrence, Massachusetts, a city shaped by poverty, addiction, economic hardship, and racial tensions, yet rich in resilience, culture, and faith. At the heart of his ministry is a belief that education is about more than academics—it is about restoring dignity, hope, and purpose, particularly for children and families facing significant challenges. Through his ministry and leadership, Father Paul has dedicated himself to serving the people of Lawrence and building stronger communities through a commitment to meeting people where they are.

Happy/Hour

Please join us for our first ClassACT HR’86 Happy/Hour on October 6 at 5:00 p.m. PT / 8:00 p.m. ET.

We’ll begin with updates since our last meeting, followed by a virtual screening of The Space Architect, directed by classmate Rebecca Carpenter ‘86. The film celebrates the life and legacy of Constance Adams ’86, a visionary NASA architect who believed that lessons learned in space can help transform our world.

Following the screening, Rebecca will be joined by Trevor Scott Sutton ’86 for a discussion and Q&A, including a conversation about Trevor’s work with interdisciplinary teams in the field of medicine, and how this is relevant to Constance’s vision for The Mothership Project.

About our speakers

Rebecca Carpenter is a filmmaker, educator, and facilitator who helps individuals and communities find meaning and direction in the face of complex change. Her work draws on storytelling, visual communication, and design thinking, grounded in the belief that creativity, collaboration, and curiosity are essential tools for navigating uncertainty.

Trevor Scott Sutton is a practicing anesthesiologist and medical educator. His experience forming and deploying multidisciplinary teams to address complex medical cases brings a distinctive perspective to the film, Constance’s ideas, and the possibilities of The Mothership Project.

If you saw the film at the reunion and would like to see it again—and hear or participate in the discussion—please join us. And please share this invitation with classmates who missed the film or weren’t able to attend the reunion.
